Porn is just art that people take sexual enjoyment in, at least when it's drawn.
I see the legitimacy of this group, but I'm fairly certain that posting porn on dA is not against the rules, and even if it were, porn is similar enough to artistically nude deviations, enough so that the freedom of expression is more important to maintain as opposed to the enforcement of rules.

I'd advise you to go back and read the rules. I'm also wondering if you might be confusing erotica and porn. I completely agree that  erotica can be artistic and beautiful, but pornography, in my opninion isn't. I love erotica and literotica, I find them both beautiful and wonderful additions to the art world. However, pornography is not erotica and I've never come across pornography that I would consider artistic.

Let me just make your search easier and link you the specific rules that prohibits pornography on deviantart.
FAQ #565: You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic imagery'; what do you consider this to be?

Ah, thanks. So they really don't want porn here. I honestly hadn't thought much of there being a difference between porn and erotica, but I suppose there is. I can see the legitimacy in making this group. However, more on the subject of opinion, I feel that considering all porn to be non-artistic is a bit much. There are plenty of elements in pornography (at least, the drawn kind) that one could consider artistic. I've met many artists with incredible art, and a lot of it is porn. Is it artistic in an erotic way? No, perhaps not. But I'll be damned if the style, linework, colors and other such features wouldn't be considered incredible simply because of the "unprofessional misuse" of sexuality.

Firstly, it's not about sexuality or a correct or incorrect use of it. Sexuality and the expression of sexuality is wonderful, amazing and healthy. That was never an issue. We have said a few times that we're not here to debate the "Is porn art" stance. I have a strong love for sexuality and sexual expression but I believe it should always be positive, regardless of the subject matter. For instance, I'm more than fine with BDSM but only as long as it's consenting and enjoyed by both partners. As long as boundaries, trust, and respect exist, sexual expression is wonderful.... our society doesn't always give a damn about that. That is when I begin to have issues.

Illustrative erotica/pornography becomes an entire debate as to what it falls into, but I feel like talent or skill is not a factor at all. How can it be? Just because someone is talented doesn't mean they're automatically drawing erotica, and just because someone has little skill doesn't mean it's NOT erotica! It may be beautifully drawn with perfect proportion and skill but completely tasteless and even demeaning to a group of people. What then? It's not erotica just because it was created in what is an artistic way (ie Drawing).

I consider erotica art, as many do, but I do not consider porn art. My reasoning is that erotica is intended to stimulate more than our loins, pornography doesn't because it's message is primarily, and often solely, about arousal. Pornography is literally the word that describes the act of creating something solely for the purpose of arousal. Porn is not bad, (Except when it demeans it's performers, abuses them, or is destructive.) It's not allowed on this site and we care about that. We were all members on this site as young adults, pre-teens for some of us, and we want this rule upheld for those young people.

While I still oppose this group, I deem that I may have been too harsh

We appreciate that! We're not here to be hate mongers, and the founding members are all completely supportive of nude, erotic, and in some cases, pornographic art. Admittedly, we do differ on our version of art and porn, and some of us, myself specifically, do not consider porn art. My personal opinion is essentially that porn is erotica minus the art. Our concern is that pornography has no place on Deviantart and should be taken elsewhere. That is the ONLY argument we are making here on dA.

We feel it is completely necessary when the rules forbid such works and yet it remains here on dA. If this site weren't deviantart, and it were for adults only, then this would not be an issue for us.
